Designed by the celebrated golf course architect Rees Jones, The River Golf Course is an 18-hole 320 acre jewel next to the Welland River. It offers a challenge to some of the top players in the world from the Championship Tees, yet still exemplifies the Jones philosophy of variety and playability. Ranging from 5,737 to 7,425 yards, the course opens with wide, forgiving holes and gets progressively more challenging as the round unfolds. Start to finish, it is a terrific layout with no weak holes and a number of extraordinary ones. With its liberal helping of "neo-classical" bunkers framing the individual holes (a definitive Jones trademark), The River Course at Grand Niagara will offer the visiting golfer the challenge and drama of a "major championship venue" only ten minutes from the excitement of the Fallsview Casino and Entertainment District.
The Grand Niagara Golf Club will eventually expand to include a hotel, condos, time-share units, restaurants, a winery, spa and fitness center, and a second golf course - a Greg Norman design.
